A handmade online store in Malaysia — Knitdles

The business

Knitdles is a handmade knitwear brand with a made-to-order crochet storefront. Its customers can discuss colours, custom pieces and timing before an order is confirmed.

The problem

For this maker, choosing a product is the start of a conversation. An ordering flow needs to carry enough product information into that conversation while leaving room to discuss the details of a made-to-order piece.

The brief was not to force every purchase through an on-site checkout. It was to give customers a clearer path from browsing to ordering, with useful information available before they contact the maker. Product names, prices and ordering guidance all have a part in that path.

What I built

I built a WhatsApp-first storefront with a category-led collection and clear product names and prices. Each product has its own enquiry link. That link carries the item and price into the WhatsApp message, so the conversation starts with a specific piece rather than a general request.

The existing case-study example uses the YI023 Knitted Water Bottle Holder at RM89. Its enquiry text names both the item and its price. It is shown as an example of the link's message, not as a message that was sent or an order that was completed.

The storefront also provides production times, shipping guidance, payment information and FAQs before the conversation starts. These sit alongside the collection, giving customers information to read before discussing their order.

What it does for the business

The site brings product browsing and WhatsApp enquiries together. Customers can identify a piece, see its price and begin a conversation tied to that product. The maker can then discuss colours, custom work and timing before confirming the order.

This is a small business e-commerce website shaped around conversation-led ordering. The concrete result is a product-specific starting point for enquiries, not a claim that every step of the sale happens automatically.

Keeping WhatsApp as the ordering destination reflects how this business works. The website presents the collection and the guidance; the conversation handles the details that still need agreement. It does not replace that conversation with a shopping cart.

Stack & notes

The documented scope is a category-led storefront, product-specific WhatsApp links and customer guidance. The ordering flow leads to WhatsApp rather than an on-site checkout. It is not an automated shopping cart or payment system.

The mobile product-card screenshot shows the existing card unchanged, including the product, item code, price and order action. The example enquiry demonstrates the message content only.
