SELECTED WORK — CASE STUDY

A homestay website with a booking system in Malaysia — Pulau Chekas
The business
Pulau Chekas is a homestay in Raub, Pahang. This project covers both sides of its hospitality work: a website for guests and a booking ledger for the team.
The problem
Accommodation listings tell guests about the places they can stay. They do not, on their own, show how those places relate to the rivers, paths and facilities around them. The guest-facing part of this build needed to make that setting easier to explore.
The team's booking work also extends beyond the website. Enquiries can arrive online, while bookings taken through WhatsApp or telephone need to be entered by staff. The back-office brief was to bring those records into one interface without suggesting that every enquiry is already a confirmed stay.
What I built
I built the website and an illustrated 3D map that connects accommodation listings with their surroundings. Guests can explore the setting instead of only scrolling through a list of rooms. This is an interactive map tourism website built around a specific place, rather than a map added without a clear purpose.
The map is illustrative. It is not a survey, and the project screenshots describe it that way.
Behind the guest website is Buku Lejar, a booking-management app. It brings website enquiries together with manually entered WhatsApp and telephone bookings. Staff can track booking status and deposits, with confirmation remaining part of their work.
Admin and operator access are separate. The app also keeps a record of who changed what and when, so changes to bookings have a traceable history.
What it does for the business
The website gives guests a way to understand the accommodation in context. The ledger gives the team one booking-management interface for records from different enquiry channels. Those are distinct jobs, and the project gives each its own place.
This is a staff-managed workflow. It does not promise instant availability or automatic payment processing. A website enquiry is not presented as a substitute for staff confirmation, and deposit tracking is not described as a payment gateway.
Stack & notes
The documented scope is website design and development, an interactive 3D map and a booking-management app. The map screenshot comes from the live experience. The booking-interface example was rendered locally from application templates using clearly labelled sample records, not live customer data.
