SELECTED WORK — CASE STUDY

A catering website in Malaysia — Shamsul Mahat Catering
The business
Shamsul Mahat Catering is a caterer in Port Dickson. This project presents its packages and menus in a mobile-first catalogue, with enquiries continuing on WhatsApp.
The problem
Customers need to see the packages and understand an estimated cost before asking about catering. The brief was to put that information in one link and carry the enquiry details into WhatsApp, rather than make the customer start the conversation without the package information.
There was also a practical question before arranging the business's own domain: could the owner see and use the proposed website first? The project began as a working demo, giving the owner something to review on his own phone and share with customers.
What I built
I built a mobile-first catalogue with packages, menus and a cost estimate. The package calculator feeds into a pre-filled WhatsApp message, giving customers a direct route from reviewing an option to asking about it.
Package cards show per-guest pricing and pax options. The site puts these details into the enquiry journey instead of treating the menu as a separate document that customers must explain again when they contact the caterer.
The demo was built from the caterer's public Facebook material and then reviewed with the owner. He reviewed it on his phone, shared it with customers and agreed to proceed. The arrangement described in the project is that the business's own domain follows with the first payment.
What it does for the business
The working preview gives the caterer one link for the menu, package estimates and WhatsApp enquiries. Customers can look through the information before starting a conversation, and the pre-filled message gives that conversation a useful starting point.
The owner could try the site before the final domain was arranged. That is the documented outcome of the demo-first approach: a working website reviewed by the owner, not only a picture of a proposed design.
For an owner looking for a catering order system, the distinction matters. This build provides package estimates and WhatsApp enquiries. An estimate is not a confirmed order, and this case does not claim an automated checkout or payment system.
Stack & notes
The scope is website design and development, a package calculator and WhatsApp-first enquiries. Package estimates and enquiries work in the preview. The package screenshot was captured from that live preview.
The preview is hosted on rosli.my while the business's own domain is arranged. It is not presented as the final client address.
The caterer's own domain follows once registration is complete; https://rosli.my/shamsulmahatcatering/ serves as the preview meanwhile.
